Use case how-to
Build and push a win-back segment to Klaviyo
Goal: turn your Klaviyo order history into a ready-to-use win-back list inside Klaviyo, using Jandex's RFM analysis, in under two minutes.
Before you start
You need a Klaviyo account already connected to Jandex with at least one completed sync (see Connect Jandex to Klaviyo if you haven't done this yet).
Steps
- Open Segments. Select the Klaviyo account you want to work with from the top bar, then go to the Segments page.
- Review the RFM grid. Jandex scores every customer on recency, frequency, and monetary value, and groups them into named segments: Champions, Loyal, At Risk, Cannot Lose Them, About to Sleep, Hibernating, and a few others. Each card shows customer count and total historical revenue for that group.
- Pick your target segment. For a win-back campaign, the two worth targeting first are Cannot Lose Them (your best customers who have gone quiet) and At Risk (regular customers whose order frequency is slipping). Click a card to see the customer list and revenue at stake.
- Click Push to Klaviyo. Confirm the name (or accept the suggested one). Jandex creates or updates a List in your Klaviyo account containing exactly the profiles in that segment.
- Build the flow in Klaviyo. Back in Klaviyo, create a flow triggered by "added to list" for that new List, and build a short win-back series — typically 2 to 3 emails over 1 to 2 weeks, with an incentive in the final email if the customer hasn't returned.
- Re-push on a cadence. Segments update as customer behavior changes, so re-run the push every few weeks to keep the list current, or check the segment card again before your next campaign.
Tip: start with Cannot Lose Them. It is usually the smallest segment but carries the most revenue at risk per customer, so it is the fastest way to see the impact of this workflow.
What happens on Klaviyo's side
Pushing a segment only ever creates or updates a List. It does not create, send, or modify any campaign or flow on your behalf — you decide what to do with the list once it lands in Klaviyo.
